Before servers and acronyms like RAID and RMA, there was the Bearcat — mascot of the now-defunct Vivian, South Dakota school. It lived in gym banners, t-shirts, and memory. The company’s name nods to that legacy: a small-town symbol of scrappy resilience and South Dakota grit.
Vivian also holds the world record for the largest hailstone — 8 inches wide, nearly two pounds — which fell there in 2010. Vivian hailstone, 2010. It did not slow down for anyone.
